Club Penguin Project: Super Secret Fun Hut! (Spoiler)

Written by: || Tags:

Penguins, take a look at the image above. It is the newest Project: Super Secret spoiler that was shared with us on the Club Penguin blog today by Megg. It's the mock-up of the 'Fun Hut' that will be accessible during the release of PSS. It seems to be a small marquee for penguins to buy things or play some kind of game, I am really not sure yet.

Do you recognise anything? It may jump out at you that this is featuring the newest model of 3D penguins, or that the sign is in yellow and pink, like the Beta Hat.

It is in fact just the full version of the hut from Spike Hike's huge teased image last month!

Now we can see the Fun Hut from a bigger scale, and I think it looks promising! Club Penguin are good at slowly feeding spoilers and information without releasing too much. I wonder what is next.

The Fun Hut is also featured in my PSS megapost. Read it here.

Blog: Penguins Helping Penguins (Coins For Change)

Written by: || Tags:

Surfa Siss, an official Club Penguin blogger, has written a new blog post about Coins for Change.

Her last post about the saiga conservation project was a hit, and had a lot of us eager to hear about what else is going on behind the scenes, and how our 10 billion coins that we donated are going out to help real-life causes and impact the lives of animals and people tremendously.

The newest post is called Penguins Helping Penguins, conveniently enough! Surfa Siss mentions that she teamed up with Global Penguin Society to help raise awareness about endangered penguins around the world. She tells us a few unknown penguin facts and talks about how she got involved herself.

Club Penguin Prehistoric Party 2016 UPDATE

Written by: || Tags:

Club Penguin's Prehistoric Party 2016 has been a big success! Penguins for all around the globe are using Gary's Time Trekker 3000 to travel back to the Mesozoic Era and roam amongst the dinosaurs of the time in order to collect UFO power fragments. We have been digging and digging for those pesky fragments. Some times we win, some times we don't.

But don't fret, there's an upside! We get rewarded through items and coins. Yes, Club Penguin have updated their party interface to launch new items every few days for completing simple tasks. They've released quite a few since my last post on the party.

If you open up the interface, you will see that from the get-go, we were able to pick up the Prehistoric Beta Hat and some other items. Since then, simply heading out with your shovel to dig in Dino Dig has offered great rewards for us all. I'll cover those after I look at the primary items:

If you travel to the 'Hunting Spot' room, you can pick up some gnarly Dino Horns and Gray Furry Boots.

I have gone to the trouble of testing out the criteria needed.
You have to:
  • Play the game
  • Dig up a fragment
  • Quit the game and open the interface
to unlock the according reward item. This means you actually have to win, sorry lazy penguins!

Blog: The Party That's Millions of Years in the Making

Written by: || Tags:

Megg has updated the official Club Penguin blog with a new post about the Prehistoric Party. She describes it as the "party that's millions of years in the making". She's given a short but fun description of the party in her post. Have a read of it!

Hi Penguins!

Imagine this:

You're an alien hanging out on your spaceship minding your own business. Now and then you beam someone up, say hi, and give them a hat.

Then one day a big, stinky, hairy polar bear visits and steals your spaceship's power source.

UGH, don't you HATE IT when that happens?

Good news for those aliens, though... Gary's found a power source for the alien's UFO that can replace what Herbert stole. It existed millions of years ago!

Are you ready to travel back in time and collect power fragments so we can help those alien puffles get back home?

If you haven't adopted an alien puffle yet, you might want to. It looks like they'll be blasting off soon!

Waddle on,

-Club Penguin Team

Brilliant post, thanks Megg!

Club Penguin Blog: Prehistoric Party 2016 Walkthrough

Written by: || Tags:

Today Megg posted a walkthrough for the Prehistoric Party that is coming out on Wednesday.

Warning: spoilers!
Here is what she wrote:

WANTED: Brave penguins to go back in time. This is not a joke!

Before you journey to Prehistoric time, you should know one thing: time travel can be tricky! (The most important question... is there cake back in time?)

It seems that travelling through time creates different realities for web and mobile players. EVERYONE on the web can play the Dino Dig mini-game and members on web only can transform into some amazing dinosaurs! Members on the Club Penguin app AND on clubpenguin.com can collect five dinosaur puffles!

Here's a little walkthrough video to help prepare you:

I'm so excited, let's get the Time Trekker ready to go!

I'll see you all millions of years ago!

-Club Penguin Team

P.S. Ninja was sick when I recorded this walkthrough video, so I put on my best Ninja impression and edited it ALL BY MYSELF! :D

Blog: Coins for Change Saiga Conservation Alliance Project

Written by: || Tags:

Surfa Siss has published her first post on the Club Penguin What's New blog, inviting us to read about one of the projects Coins for Change has helped this year, which is an alliance that was created to help protect the saiga antelope. According to her, they curious animal has not changed since the ice age, wow! She talks about a lady she met, Elena Bykova, who is a conservationist working there to help protect the saiga animal. She goes more in-depth and even shares a few snaps throughout the post, have a read of it.
Hi Penguins!

Great job supporting this year’s Coins For Change! I'm Surfa Siss, the Corporate Citizenship Program Director – in other words, I help find ways to inspire audiences to make a difference through signature programs like Club Penguin's Coins For Change, It Starts With You Online Safety and Disney wide Citizenship programs!

I thought you’d like to learn more about some of the amazing projects we’re supporting this year. One project is with Saiga Conservation Alliance, they help protect the endangered saiga antelope. This cool looking animal has not changed since the ice age when mammoths and sabre tooth tigers roamed the earth!

I met Elena Bykova who is an amazing conservationist helping to protect this unique looking animal. She works with kids and adults in Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Mongolia and Kazakhstan teaching everyone how to protect saiga by looking after their local environment and not hunting saiga.

Here’s a picture of a male Saiga Antelope:

Here’s Elena with a rescued wild baby goat:

At Club Penguin through the Disney Conservation Fund, we help hundreds of animals around the world. Over the next few days I will share more stories about them and how Coins For Change is helping animals and people.

Are there endangered animals where you live? How do you help them?

Waddle on,

-Surfa Siss

Club Penguin Blog: RUBBER DUCKY DAY!

Written by: || Tags:

Today is Rubber Ducky Day... an exciting day for rubber ducky-lovers everywhere such as Rookie. Here's how Daysoftheyear.com has suggested to celebrate this special day:

Celebrate by taking a rubber duck (or taking a whole load of rubber ducks) in the bath and acting out small, theatrical scenes of your choosing. Why not try Macbeth, or your favourite opera?

Moderator Megg has also decided to celebrate. She has created a blog post to celebrate on the Club Penguin blog:
Hi Penguins!

It's the most important day of the year... at least for Rookie!

Today is Rubber Ducky Day, which also happens to be the birthday of Rookie's rubber ducky!

Did you know over 20 years ago a boat accidentally dropped thousands of rubber duckies into the ocean? They've journeyed all over the world since then, reaching Indonesia, the United States, Australia, Canada, Iceland, and Japan! There are still thousands out there, so next time you're by the ocean, keep an eye out for a squeaky toy!

Rookie's ducky might not be as well-traveled, but he sure does love it.

How will you help celebrate Rookie's rubber ducky's big day? Let us know in the comments below!

Hi everyone, Megg has made a blog post to inform us about The Good Dinosaur clothing in the Penguin Style catalog. This is what she said:

Hi Penguins!

This month's Penguin Style has amazing dino styles for members inspired by The Good Dinosaur!

I might get them as a disguise for some time travel tourism... the Arlo outfit might make me look extra tall! Or you might see me in the Butch costume if I'm feeling really ferocious. OR maybe the Spot outfit so I'm ready for any island adventure.

Just a note, if you see dinos around, make sure and ROAR at them... then RUN!

What We Know About #ProjectSuperSecret So Far...

Written by: || Tags:

Club Penguin will soon be undergoing some massive changes to the game in its entirety. We know vaguely how it will change and why, and Spike Hike has described it as "[the] next big thing for CP and beyond". The team at Disney Interactive have been working on this for a while now, under the guise of Project: Super Secret (or #ProjectSuperSecret on Twitter).

From as early as July 2015 Club Penguin have been releasing spoilers and sneak peeks to hint at Project Super Secret. Some have revealed big changes and some have just showed small hints for us to anticipate over.

As many have predicted, PSS will be released in 2016. I would like to make a list on my blog of all the sneak peeks so far, so when it is released, we can put the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle together. But also, so we have a clear understanding of how the game will operate and what it will look like. Every time a new sneak peek is shown to us, from January 2, 2016 to the release date, I will update this post.

Okay, let's start out with July 2015. Club Penguin released the first spoiler on their blog, with a video called "Sneak Peek of #ProjectSuperSecret - Disney Club Penguin". The video includes a clothing customiser, where penguins will be able to choose a blank canvas of clothing such as a hoodie and be able to customise the colour, pattern and the final decal.
